Bonfire And Fireworks 2024

The Bonfire and Fireworks on Saturday 2nd November were a fantastic success. Of course we were helped by the weather. Thank you to everyone that came along, hope you all had a good time.

We also have to thank you all for contributing to the Playing Field funds, by buying drinks and food or by making donations by cash or contactless. Some of you also left comments when you donated and we thank you for those kind thoughts and we will consider your suggestions.

If you didn't make it, here is the firework display you missed:

Thanks to our Sponsors and Helpers

We would like to express our gratitude to all of the many volunteers who come from far and wide to contribute their time and energy to making this event happen. From the expert torch makers, the Bonfire builders, the event marshals, the bar staff and the Uckfield Rugby Club for running the BBQ. Not forgetting the post-bonfire clear-up team. Every year it can take up to 40 volunteers to make sure the evening runs safely and smoothly.

We also have to thank our sponsors (some of which are shown below) and some very generous donations.

All monies raised go towards the upkeep and development of the Playing Field and the Pavilion for our local community. If you would like to become involved in volunteering with us, contact us here.

Maintaining of a Tradition

Although sadly no longer a public holiday, Sussex still upholds the marking of the "Fifth" in fine style as you see here in Hadlow Down. Our celebrations have in recent years been referred to as a "Village bonfire night at its best!"

Update on Results

Just to say that we made more than £4000 profit on the 2024 event. All this goes to the update and maintenance of the Playing Field and the Pavilion.

Many thanks for your continuing support.

New Village Hall Survey - Results

The results are in! 8 out 10 respondents to our village survey are in support of building a new Village Hall and Sports Pavilion at the Playing Field. For the full details see: www.newvillagehall.co.uk

Defibrillator

East Sussex Ambulance Service knows the exact location of this device and the door lock code. In an emergency always call 999 first, ask for ambulance, explain the situation and your location. Instructions will be given.

This defibrillator is available 24/7 and can be used by anyone, not just users of the playing field. So if you live nearby, get to know exactly where it is - just in case of that unlikely emergency!

Together with the device at the Village Hall, Hadlow Down now has two defibrillators in the village.

This website does not use "cookies" or have trackers, google analytics or any other nastyness.
